July 30, 2012 - Nice warm day today and the guys are lucky enough to be working inside with the AC on.  Some more interior work was completed in the last few days.  Donna has been painting the rooms and a couple of days Jessica has helped her and that project is right on schedule.  Grading and driveway layout will start this week as well.

The island in the kitchen has been added.  This is something Donna has always wanted.

July 24, 2012 - Someone asked the other day if I had taken a picture of the outside of the house lately and realized I hadn't.  Here are two pics.  The larger one is a panorama from the top of the hill across the street.  Talked to the builder today and middle of next week we will start the grading.

July 20, 2012 - More work in the kitchen on cabinets and the laundry room cabinets were installed today as well.  It's nice to see progress like this.

July 18, 2012 - Trim work is still being done and within the past couple of days they started putting up the kitchen cabinets.  I may be biased but I think Donna did an outstanding job in her cabinet selection and can't wait for the floor to be finished to see how they compliment each other.

July 14, 2012 - Progress with interior doors and trim.  You never know how many doors you have until you watch (and pay) the guys who install them!  THEN comes the job of countersinking the nails and filling the  holes.  Still, it's progress and for that we are happy.

I countersunk all the nails on the doors and Donna came behind and put the putty on.
I had to go home and mow the lawn and she stayed and countersunk the nails on the floor trim.

July 11, 2012 - They guys who are installing the doors finally made it and started today.  Lots of doors including those upstairs.  Not sure how long it will take them but it shouldn't be too long.

Sunday, July 8, 2012 - This weekend was a hot one (100+ degrees) and although the sub-contractors aren't working there is progress.  Donna finished painting the laundry room and I built a sample shutter out of wood.  Donna is going to paint the shutter black and we will see what it looks like on the house.  If it looks good I will end up making up another 23 (total of 12 pairs) next week.

In the meantime at home Donna is busy comparing paint samples and making final decisions.

July 6, 2012 - The cabinets arrived yesterday afternoon.  I was working and about 1/2 hour before they were delivered the driver called to say he was close and to be sure to have someone there to unload them.  Nice of them to let us know in advance we needed to unload them ourselves.  Donna was able to get in touch with Jess's boyfriend, Kevin and he graciously came over to help Donna.  Donna said he did most of the grunt work and was a real help.  THANKS KEV!  We appreciate the help.  That's one gold star for you!

Today, Donna and I spent the morning/early afternoon opening EVERY box and inspecting for damage.  There was only one cabinet that had some damage which will require the company to replace the unit.  Now we get to see how their customer service operates.  By the way the units are very well built and we are very happy with the purchase.

July 3, 2012 - Been awhile since I posted but progress has slowed somewhat.  The master bath has all the tile installed and looks GREAT.  The guys did an excellent job and we are really pleased with the finished project.  While I was at work, Donna spent the day sealing the grout on the tile.

Today the interior doors and trim arrived and in the garage.  Nothing will happen tomorrow since it's a holiday but I'm sure it won't take long for the guys to install this soon.

The cabinets are suppose to be delivered this week and since they haven't arrived yet it looks like a Thursday or Friday delivery may be the order for the day.

I'm working 4PM to Midnight for the next four days so Donna and I can work on the house in the early morning.
