June 26, 2012 - Well as the wood floor sub-contractor promised the wood floors are all installed.  It looks awesome and both Donna and I are really impressed with the job.  A little bit of tile in the bathroom needs to be installed and that part of the job will be done.

The master bathroom is almost done.  Tile on the tub frame and a little
against the back wall will complete the job.

June 25, 2012 - The HVAC is on and the house is a cool 73 which allowed the installation of the wood floors.  After work I checked on the progress and was amazed at how much was already done!  Talked to the installer and he said they would finish tomorrow and start sanding right away.  Check back SOON to see the progress.

June 22-23, 2012 - More progress Friday as the HVAC guys finished installing the Geo-Thermal.  They wanted to wait until the electricity was on for testing.  Now that it works the house is being air conditioned so the hardwood floors can acclimate and then be installed.  I'm expecting that either Monday or Tuesday if the schedule works out the floor installers will be onsite and start.

The garage doors came today and were installed in the morning.  Just a couple of things they need to do before they are done as well.

Saturday afternoon Donna, Jessica and I were at a wedding of the daughter of our former pastor.
Donna played the piano, Jessica played her violin and I ran the video recorder.  After the
wedding we went out to the house to see the new garage doors.

June 21, 2012 - Milestone at the house today.  We have electricity now!  The temporary service was disconnected and the house is officially hooked up to the grid.  Also the plumber back filled both the water line and the electrical service line.  Later that afternoon BG Energy came in and installed a new transformer that will service our home and Dave and Laura's home whose property is right next to us.  Hopefully on Friday the HVAC guys will come in and hook up the Geo-Thermal system.  We have to have the AC on so the hardwood floors can acclimate to the house prior to installation.

The blown-in insulation was completed two days ago and now it looks like it snowed in the ceiling!

Been very warm lately, almost like it's already mid-July.  Mid to high 90's and no rain for a long time.  I heard on the weather report yesterday that our rainfall is 5"  below normal.

June 14, 2012 - Beautiful day for work on the house and today the plumber was still out there when I stopped by.  I asked him about the black 1/2 'tubes' in the septic field and he explained the system to me.  The effluent transfers from the tanks to all three 'fields' and gravity takes care of the rest.  He explained the system is about 30% more efficient than the old style of septic system.  He told me he has had one for over 8 years and with his family of four it works fine.

Also today the water meter was installed and their plan is to hook up the water tomorrow as soon as the inspector gives the clearance.

The electrical is all done and as soon as the inspector gives us the go-ahead we will get Blue Grass Energy to install the meter.

June 13, 2012 - Progress both inside and outside the house.  Stopped by today after work and the tile guys were still working.  The sun-room, upstairs and downstairs bathrooms, downstairs laundry room and part of the master bath are done.  Also today they dug the trench for the electrical and put in part of the septic system.  I have never seen this type of septic field so I guess I'm going to have to go online and see how it works.  If someone out there has seen this before please free to post here an explanation or a link.

June 12, 2012 - Good day for work and the guys installing the ceramic tile are on the job for the next few days.  Next on the agenda is the septic system getting installed, the plumbing hooked up to the water line out front and the HVAC getting finalized.

June 10, 2012 - Nothing happened this weekend at the house with the exception of Donna and I picking up some trash and throwing it into the dumpster.  However that doesn't mean planning for the house is on hold.  Donna is busy selecting cabinet styles/colors and matching the hardware.  She literally works HOURS every day going over different options.  Lately it's been tile, cabinets, stain and carpet for the upstairs.  I bet there is stuff she is working on that I don't even know about.

Here, Donna is checking out paint colors and matching them to the hardware and even a pitcher!

June 7, 2012 - Been a little while since I posted but not much to see in the last few days unless you like to watch paint drying!  The prime coat is done for the entire house and the ceilings are almost done with the paint application.

Today the wood floor was delivered and the installer wants it to remain in the house until next week so it can acclimate to the humidity.

The wood floors were delivered today and will be installed next week. This is the bundle for the Family room.
