April 26, 2012 - Well it's been a little while since I last posted but I didn't want to bore you with repetitive pictures of bricks going up and electrical sockets/wires being put in the house.  Last week has also been a busy week as far as inspections go.  Framing, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical all have been inspected and they subs can now proceed.  According to our building calendar we are on time with Rough-In plumbing.  One week ahead with Rough-In Electric, ahead a couple of days with roofing and a couple days ahead with most of the inspections.  Today's weather was in the high 70's and in the early morning just a hint of rain but that would only hinder the masons.  Donna met with the drywall contractor earlier this week and as soon as we get the go ahead from all the inspections the insulation will be installed and drywall will start to go up.  EXCITING TIMES, EH?

April 17, 2012 - HAPPY TAX DAY!!  In case someone is reading this many years from now let me explain.  April 15, 2012 was a Sunday and the tax deadline would have been Monday the 16th.  However, Monday was Emancipation Day and is a Federal Holiday in D.C. which means the deadline was moved to today.

After work I stopped at the house and 'supervised' (which means I just watched) the mason crew for a few minutes.  They are working on the South side of the house and making progress.  Very labor intensive as you can imagine.  The plumber and electrician are working on other projects and will be here next week to finish up their work.

April 16, 2012 - Another good day of exceptional weather.  There was a 60% chance of rain but the 40% won out in Madison County!  The electricians, plumbers and HVAC guys are crawling all over the inside of the house while the masons are working on the outside.

April 11, 2012 - Today the weather was very cool.  When I took out the dog for a walk at 6AM it was 31 degrees and there was a light frost on the grass.  By the time I got home from work the sun was out and the high was 54.  It was nice a sunny day and the guys were able to work some more on the brick.

April 9, 2012 - We had a great time in Alabama and it was a long trip home all day Sunday.  Yes, we did stop by the house on our way home but it was too dark to really see anything.  Donna was busy catching up with all her music responsibilities but she took time to stop by the house to see the progress.  I had to wait until after work before I could see what had been accomplished.  Good sunny weather today but a little cool during the day.  Seems like it was warmer in February and March!

April 4, 2012 - Donna and I are in Alabama baby sitting our grand daughter Samantha for a few days and not able to take any pictures.  A good friend of ours, Tom went over for us and took some pictures so we could keep the blog current.  Heard there was some rain this week which may have slowed down the brick work but as you can see the materials have been delivered.  Donna is using the time away from her work to practice her violin and order cabinets/vanities online.  She has been spending about four to five hours a day online researching prices, delivery dates and different options.  I'm the lucky one.  I take a look when she asks for my opinion and the rest of the time I play with Samantha! Oh, and as I write this at 11:00 PM, I am watching Bait Car on the TV.
