March 30, 2012 - Haven't posted for a couple of days.  Not a lot of activity to show but we have met or talked with the Electrician, Plumber and the Mason.  We will be out of town for a week so we had to get ahead of the game so the guys can still work.  Donna has been REAL busy looking at vanities, fixtures and giving the workers directions on what she has planned.  When we get back I'm sure there will be a LOT to share.

March 24-27, 2012 - Another weekend of nice weather and progress on the home building.  No obvious work done today (Monday) but Donna met with the mason and they talked about what she wanted done.  I called the plumber and we talked about tank-less water heaters vs regular water heaters.  Donna will meet with the electrician this week and layout the sockets and other special electrical stuff.

March 22, 2012 - Another March day with the weather in the low 80's.  There was a forecast of scattered T-Storms but nothing showed up as of this posting at 7:15PM.  A lot accomplished today as you can see from the pictures I posted.

March 21, 2012 - High of 82 today and clear skies.  May have some rain on Friday but as of now the weather is perfect for building.  The vast majority of the windows are in and I talked to the on-site builder today about some minor stuff that needs to be done inside.

March 20, 2012 - Today the weather was in the 80's and SUPER nice.  I had to work late and didn't leave Lexington until after 6:30PM.  When I was about 5 miles from the house I called Donna to see if she wanted me to pick her up and go see the house.  She had just finished a lesson in Berea and was already at the house.  She waited until I got there and we checked out the progress for the day.

This was taken around 7:15PM or so.  The cement didn't arrive until sometime after
2:00PM so the finisher got a late start.  He told me he would be there late tonight.

March 19, 2012 - We are two thirds of the way through March and I can't believe the weather was in the low 80's with partly cloudy skies.  Couldn't ask for better weather! Today I finished work early and went out to the house at 4:00PM.

March 17, 2012 - Donna and I were out and about and of course had to stop by the house.  Nice day for working and they guys have been busy. In the low 70's today with cloudy, but sunny skies. I talked to one of them today and asked if they always work Saturdays?  He said if they lost a day during the week because of weather or lack of materials they will work on Saturday.  I also asked him if they were real busy and he said right now they weren't but are hoping the spring/summer season will bring work.

will be poured early next week and the shingles will arrive as well.

March 15, 2012 - Another beautiful day considering it's the middle of March and normally we have a lot of rain and much cooler weather.  In the low 70's and during the day not a cloud in the sky...at least until the guys got off work.  The entire house is finally covered and they started putting the tar paper on about 1/2 of it.  Compare these pictures with yesterday's and you will see what I mean.

March 14, 2012 - Another day of outstanding weather.  High of 77 and sunny all day long.  Work is still progressing.  The guys have put up all the sheeting on the outside and most of it on the roofs.  Looking good.

March 13, 2012 - Over the weekend it rained a little bit but today was so nice.  High of 71 degrees and mostly sunny.  I couldn't wait to get off work and check out the house. I'm glad I stopped by to see the progress.  The basic frame of the roof is up and as you can see from the top picture on the right side of it there is plywood for the roof.

March 9, 2012 - Another day of exceptionally nice weather and the guys were busy at work.  As you can see below the rafters are built over the main part of the house.

March 7, 2012 - Didn't get home yesterday until after 8PM and it was too dark to get pics.  Today was perfect with the temps in the high 60's and when I got onsite all I could say was WOW!  Lots of progress and Donna happened to be there at the same time and we spent about 1/2 hour just walking around.

March 5, 2012 - This morning it snowed about 2" in our part of Madison County and when I left for work this morning it looked like this...

Taken around 6:45AM

However by the time I returned from work around 4:00PM the high temp for the day was 38 degrees and the snow was gone and the guys were working.  All the joists for the second floor are in place and most of the deck is done.

The deck to the second floor is almost done and that is a wall ready to go up.

March 3, 2012 - It's Saturday and the guys are out working because yesterday they couldn't  - Tornado Warnings all over Madison County.  The frame for the garage is up and ready and they are working on the joists for the second floor now.  Great weather.  Sunny day in the high 40's.

March 1, 2012 - More progress as the garage walls are now up, some of the plywood is on the outer walls and some of the second floor joists are in place.  It was an outstanding day for working with full sun and mild temps all day.
