February 2, 2012 - Today the weather was so nice. Low 60's, sunny and no rain! Yesterday the guys poured the concrete and today took off the forms. It's starting to look like a house.

This is the inside of the basement and is a lot bigger than we had originally decided on but will be very nice for the grand kids to ride bikes in when the weather is not the best.

Here is Donna looking at books for the windows. She has also been looking at brick samples. A lot for her to do in the upcoming months.
I can't even begin to imagine all the decisions that will have to be made. Will be so nice when done, though.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I asked the builder about two weeks ago what we could do to expedite the process and he listed five priorities with the first being the windows. Then in order of importance...brick, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures and then floor coverings. Donna was able to find bricks locally at 1/3 less than a couple of stores in Lexington. Even as I type (Wed at 9:15PM) she is upstairs on the other computer making final selection on the windows. She loves doing this type of stuff and I'm glad. You know us guys...Window? Sure, I'll take that one (only because it's the first one I saw in the catalog) and that's how guys shop!!!
